If you are living in the same timeline as I, you would have remembered these nostalgic games that I am going to show.With advancement\u00a0 in technology, children are starting to rely more on devices such as computers, tablets and smartphones. Gone are the days when the children sweat it out playing goli, zero point, five stones, chapteh and etc.<\/p>\n

These nostalgic games seems to have vanished in our modern society. If you still want your child to remember them, head down to Plaza Singapura. They are having “PS 40: Shaping our Memories”<\/strong> fair from now till 22nd June 2014.<\/p>\n

Pick-up Sticks<\/h1>\n

And here is a game, Pick Up Sticks, I used to play when I was young.<\/p>\n

Country Flag Eraser<\/h1>\n

Another of my favorite is the Eraser game. But we used all sorts of erasers, not only country type.<\/p>\n

Chaptek<\/h1>\n

Goli and Gundu<\/h1>\n

Mostly played by males. Goli or marbles will require your aiming skill.<\/p>\n

Five Stones<\/h1>\n

Five Stones will need some coordination skill.<\/p>\n

Zero Point<\/h1>\n

This, in my opinion, is the most challenging game. You need to have a bit of flexibility in your body to play this game.<\/p>\n

Toss the Ring<\/h1>\n

Normally, I think only Masar Malam or previously, mini amusement park will have such game (a variant of it) (i.e. toss the ring on the bottles).<\/p>\n

Bola Tin<\/h1>\n

Finally, this is also found in Amusement park or Pasar Malam<\/p>\n

Not surprisingly, most of our childhood games require hands, eye coordination and a little sportsmanship. It is sad that all these games are replaced by digital games which requires brain power but nothing on the physical side.<\/p>\n

So, as mentioned, the exhibition is still on-going till 22nd June. You have some time to take your children to experience some of your childhood. I think it will be better is those manning the stalls could show a few tricks on how to play the game. The Goli stall is a little pathetic, in my opinion.<\/p>\n
