This is part 2 of the Changi Airport Race. Click Here for Part 1<\/a> if you have missed it. As you may already know, the winner of this race is Yuey Tan who is driving the Porsche 911 GT3. What you did not know is that there are some hiccups here and there that make this race even more exciting. Read on to find out! Below, a shot of Yuey and Peter shaking hand before the final countdown.<\/p>\n

We were taken from the boarding room to our buses. And we have to don a safety jacket to ensure “maximum” safety on the runway. As mentioned in Part 1, two lucky winners have the chance to be up close and personal with Yuey Tan. I was glad to be able to follow Kai Zhi (one of the nuffnangers). Here is the shot of the two lucky winners.<\/p>\n

This is the Grandstand area. It is filled with luminous green due to the safety jackets.<\/p>\n

We have two big screens to show us the close up of the Porsche and B747, plus connecting with another 500 people who is in T3 with big screens to view the “live” event.<\/p>\n

Just before the race, Yuey made a point to walk around, waving to the audience.<\/p>\n

BTW, before the race, lucky winners (30 of them) who has a card under the seats won themselves a pair of Porsche sunglasses (envy…)<\/p>\n

Before the race starts, the Yuey Tan and Captain Peter Leo were interviewed by the comperes. They were like celebrities walking down the red carpet with pretty girls \ud83d\ude42 .<\/p>\n

After the interview..<\/p>\n

And when Yuey heard the shout of Porsche will win the race, he punches both fists in the air.<\/p>\n

And when the audience shouted that B747 will win, that is the reaction from Yuey. All for the sake of good, clean fun.<\/p>\n

The weather was scorching hot. The most pitiful people must be the Media and Yuey (heard that the suit plus the temperature in the car can raise up to 60 degree celcius).<\/p>\n

And now, finally, the race is about to start. Yuey getting ready.<\/p>\n

As mentioned, some hiccups do occur. In this case, Yuey stopped his Porsche 911 just after he drove off. Apparently, something must be wrong.<\/p>\n

After some checks, he went ahead… Now, for the big guy.. the Jett8 Boeing 747 Jetliner. It is a cargo jet and because of this race, it had been stripped off most of the non important accessories and the fuel is top up just enough for the race.<\/p>\n

BTW, the race is less than 2 km and that means, it will finish in less than a minute.<\/p>\n

All ready to go and something happened. The 747 did not move. The porsche just shoot off and passed the finishing line in seconds.<\/p>\n
