Last Friday, when the condition of the haze in Singapore was very bad, OpenNet issued a statement<\/a> announcing that their contractor will stop fibre installation work until the condition becomes better. Guess what, according to their official statement, they did not actually stop. As the condition of the haze became better last Friday (after they issued the statement), they actually continued to work without risking the workers’ health. OpenNet\u2019s contractor resumes fibre installation, repair work<\/b><\/h2>\n

Singapore, 24 June 2013<\/b> \u2013 OpenNet\u2019s Key Sub-contractor (KSC) has lifted the temporary suspension of fibre installation and repair work issued on the afternoon of 21 June 2013. The precaution was taken to safeguard the health of the KSC\u2019s workers as the haze reached hazardous levels in Singapore. All work resumed the same day as the smog cleared later in the afternoon.<\/p>\n

OpenNet will continue to monitor the situation together with its KSC and may have to take future actions if the air quality reaches very hazardous levels again.<\/p>\n

OpenNet apologizes for any inconvenience caused to subscribers whose installation appointments were impacted by this precaution.\u00a0Installations that were affected are in the process of being rescheduled.<\/p>\n
