M1 modernises network with the latest technology<\/h2>\n
Selected Nokia Siemens Networks to enhance customer experience, <\/em> \u00a0SINGAPORE, 15 April 2013<\/b> – In line with its commitment to invest in the latest technology, M1 Limited (M1) has selected Nokia Siemens Networks (NSN) to modernise its mobile networks, as well as to deploy a nationwide 3G radio network on the 900MHz frequency band, at the value of up to S$85 million.<\/p>\n The network modernisation programme includes the upgrading of M1\u2019s core infrastructure to an all-IP network and pooling of mobile switching centres and customer data bases to enable dynamic allocation of resources. This will improve network performance and efficiency, as well as enhance resiliency.<\/p>\n The deployment of the 3G radio network on the 900MHz frequency band involves the addition of new radio modules in base stations across the island. This will complement the existing 3G network on the 2100MHz frequency band to enhance both indoor and outdoor coverage.<\/p>\n \u201cCustomer experience has always been the key focus for M1.
