According to Straits Times report, no data were compromised during the attacks. Some describe it as DDOS (Distributed Denial of Service) while others describe it as DOS. Anyway, they are similar. When executed, they will slow down servers and users may experience time-out on most occasions.<\/p>\n

Such massive onslaught of demand can overwhelm website servers, slowing service or knocking it offline. ‘Ten years ago we saw the first DDoS attacks take down some of the world’s largest websites,’ said Cisco chief security researcher Patrick Peterson.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
