<\/p>\nSaw this i.Saw, the USB Chainsaw frenzy a few weeks ago. As I am no fan of chainsaw, I did not bother to check it out. However, after reading how this i.Saw is a hoax and the message that they wanted to put across is to save the trees, I am more than happy to promote the site (of course, save the tree is more important). The website is solid. It has the i.Saw as the main product. A very clever “patent pending” technology on power distribution to put skeptic that a USB cannot possibly power up a chainsaw. Another detail that it put inside is the Saw Chain part number which makes it so believable. Plus it has information like compatible with others saw chain which makes this a perfect hoax.

I found out from Straits Times Digital Life that it is the product spoof was from 2 creative directors, Noel Loo and Shawn Yeo, from advertising firm, BBH Asia Pacific. The idea was dreamed up by Creative Director Peter Callaghan and Art Director Joseph Tay.<\/p>\n
The i.Saw that you saw is made in Thailand. A video was even made with this i.Saw.<\/p>\n
The firm has invested US$10,000 on the project and of course, the main purpose is to lead the people to another environment friendly website.<\/p>\n
From this website, people can download an application that when installed on the PC or Mac, will play a sound of a chainsaw whenever they hit the\u00a0 Ctrl-P.<\/p>\n
It is ironical.
