I was invited to the exclusive launch of Sony latest Bravia LCD TV range. I must say that the highlight of the event is the 9.9mm, thinnest in the world LCD TV, ZX1. It is very, very thin and as always, Sony products really stand out in front of others (Sony didn’t ask me to make this sentence. I am a Sony fan for a long time already \ud83d\ude42 ).<\/p>\n

The event was held at Red Dot Museum which is also part of Red Dot Traffic. This place used to be the old Traffic Police HQ.<\/p>\n

The decor of the place was done nicely.<\/p>\n

This is Z5, the 2nd Generation Motionflow 200Hz Bravia LCD TV. It is flicker free.<\/p>\n

This is the thinnest LCD TV that is just 9.9mm thick. The colours produced is amazing.<\/p>\n

If you are thinking how to connect those cables, don’t worry, Sony has taken care of it neatly by introducing a wireless console.<\/p>\n

There are other models in the hall. They are the WE5 which is supposed to be super eco friendly and energy saving. It sports a Presence Sensor to turn the TV on or off.<\/p>\n

Seriously speaking, the outlook of the Bravia TV is quite similar if you look from the front. You have to look carefully to spot the differences. Anyway, here are some of the interesting ones.<\/p>\n

And this is one of the Sony product that I always wanted to take a closer look at. It is the 11.1″ OLED TV that is 3mm thick and only sold in Japan. Too bad, it is not powered up. BTW, it has a 1,000,000:1 contrast !!<\/p>\n

We were ushered to another room to begin the presentation. Very nice lightings \ud83d\ude42 .<\/p>\n

The event started by a speech by the Managing Director, Mr. Takeo Kobayashi, of Sony Singapore.<\/p>\n

This is followed by two other presenters. They are Simon Sim, Head, HAV Product Marketing and Benjamin Ng, TV Product Manager, HAV Product Marketing from Sony Singapore.<\/p>\n

The presentation talks about the roadmap of Sony and one of the topic evolves the misconception of the term LCD backlight TV. Interesting but I guess we are more interested in the close look of the actual products.<\/p>\n

I think Sony must have spent a lot on their marketing. They have actually engaged Kaka to be featured in their commercial for the 2nd Generation Motionflow 200Hz BRAVIA LCD TV. Below is the commercial.<\/p>\n
