This HTC Event was held at the Old Parliament House, which is now called the Arts House. HTC was there to unveil the HTC Touch Diamond2 and HTC Touch Pro2. These phones were the latest that was announced in February during the WMC (Windows Mobile Congress). What is interesting is the introduction of the New TouchFLO2 3D and also the first in the World, Push Internet browser.<\/p>\n

This is where the HTC Touch Diamond2 and Touch Pro2 was unveiled.<\/p>\n

Before the event start, we were ushered to have some light snacks. How thoughtful! \ud83d\ude42 Here is one of the showcase of the HTC Touch Diamond2. BTW, it is a dummy phone inside.<\/p>\n

Did you see a diamond at inside the showcase? It was our door gift.<\/p>\n

There were some special guests that flew in from HTC Taiwan. One of the them that give me the deepest impression is John Wang. He is the person behind the infamous TouchFLO 3D.<\/p>\n

Anyway, the event started with our lovely host.<\/p>\n

Followed on is the opening speech by the Managing Director of HTC, Mr. Kevin Hou. He mentioned how the company had progress from the first Touch Diamond to the current handsets.<\/p>\n

Next up is HTC Newly Appointed Country Manager (Singapore), Mr. Melvin Chua. He is no stranger to HTC events as he was previously the Product Manager. He talked about how he hopes to perform his new role and how the consumers like us can provide valuable feedback to him to improve the communication and the most important, the products from HTC.<\/p>\n

It followed by the unveiling ceremony of the HTC Touch Diamond2 and Touch Pro2.<\/p>\n

Again, here is our host for the day, admiring the big lighted display of the HTC Touch Diamond2\/Pro2.<\/p>\n

Following on is a fashion show to showcase the devices and G2000 apparel.<\/p>\n

The next speaker is Mr. John Wang. As mentioned, he is the brainchild of HTC TouchFLO3D. He talked about the philosophy of HTC as a company. One of the words that he mentioned, which I think, is very important is “Listen and Observed” the customers. He give example about how the original first Touch Diamond received comments like poor battery life and consumers asking for a bigger capacity battery life. Using his “Listen and Observed”, he explained that the consumers doesn’t want a bigger (and bulkier) battery. What the consumer needed is a better power consumption management and Touch Diamond2 is the results of such comments. A 5o% improvement in the battery consumption and still retaining the small size factor.<\/p>\n

He talked with passion on the other HTC recently launched products and software like the new Touch Cruise with Footprint (software) that can capture the “footprint” of where you visit. Also, he talked fondly on the TouchFLO2 3D which is the new enhanced TouchFLO 3D.<\/p>\n

He mentioned that HTC is about difficult tasks (to the consumers) made simple by knowing what the customers wanted. For example, the new TouchFLO2 3D has tabs on a contact that you can easily extracts emails, SMS and etc, just by a few simple touch.<\/p>\n

Also mentioned\u00a0 quite extensively is “Straight Talk” from the HTC Touch Pro2. If you are always on teleconference, this device is for you. A few simple touch and you are already in conferences. What is interesting is that HTC understands the needs of the user and make it so simple to perform the task. For example, from a reminder about the conference, a simple button to call the conference number, a note to tell you the password (if needed) to enter the conferences and etc.<\/p>\n

There are more from him. I would love to talk about that later (in another post).<\/p>\n

Next, the Q&A (Questions and Answer) session. Look at how serious they are in answering the questions from the media.<\/p>\n

The questions range from battery life, management of the emails to things like how the handset is managing the application running in the background.<\/p>\n

Most of the questions are fielded nicely by Mr. John Wang.<\/p>\n
