If you are those that try your luck (by feigning sick) to get a sick certificate from your neighborhood doctor, this device might stop you on your track.<\/p>\n

I am not sure if the picture above is the final product but it seems that the news is genuine<\/del>. This is NOT the picture but from Stock Xchng. This device, SickVerify, if real, is designed and manufactured in Malaysia and will roll out from August 2012.<\/p>\n

Seriously, I have seen those excuses of flu and stomach cramps before. This device is able to detect if you are telling the truth by testing your saliva (even if the illness is gone).<\/p>\n

For example, a flu would result in the production of antibodies, which would remain even after the illness subsides. Stomach cramps – a frequent reason cited in sick leave applications among women – would trigger the release of cortisol. Traces of the hormone would also be present in the body days after.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

And how does it analyze? Super simple. Read below.<\/p>\n

The test itself is blindingly simple and quick. The subject wets a fingernail-sized piece of cottonwool with his\/her saliva. The cottonwool is inserted into the compartment of SickVerify, which is then plugged into any laptop or desktop via a USB socket. A program provided with SickVerify can then be run to begin the test (which takes approximately 3 minutes) and display the results.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
