It is unthinkable of blind man driving on the road, until now. The basic requirement to drive on the road is able to see. However, as technology improves, you may be witnessing blind man driving on the road soon.<\/p>\n

To prove the technology, Virginia Tech’s Robotics and Mechanisms Laboratory (RoMeLa), along with the National Federation of the Blind (NFB), recently debuted its sight-optional and street-legal SUV at the famed racetrack.<\/p>\n

The SUV basically helps the blind to “see” by means of a laser range finder to map the surroundings. The information was transmitted back to the driver by means of DriveGrip tactile interface technology and Drive-by-wire system.<\/p>\n
