HTC Wildfire & HTC Legend Receive Android 2.2 (Froyo) Firmware Update<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Singapore \u2013 21 January, 2011 \u2013<\/strong> HTC has released a \u2018Firmware Over the Air\u2019 (FOTA) update for the HTC Wildfire & HTC Legend. Phone owners will receive a pop-up notification on their smartphones when the FOTA update is made available.<\/p>\n

Simply accept the update via a data connection* (Wi-Fi or 3G\/GPRS) when the update notification pops up. After installation, you can verify the successful update by confirming that the Build Number<\/em> reads \u201c2.24.707.1.<\/strong>\u201d for the HTC Wildfire and \u201c3.15.707.3.<\/strong>\u201d for the HTC Legend respectively (From the Home Screen, go to MENU> Settings> About phone> Software Information> Build number<\/em><\/strong>). Android version should also reflect \u201c2.2\u201d at the top of the Software Information<\/em> screen.<\/p>\n

*Note:<\/strong> Please backup your data before firmware update. We highly recommend using a Wi-Fi connection or unlimited data plan to implement the update as standard data connection charges may apply.<\/em><\/p>\n
