When I first saw the\u00a0 video on the Sharpie Liquid Pencil<\/a>, I told myself I would buy it if I find it. After some attempts, I gave up. Recently (actually last week), I was in Japan, I saw this Pilot Frixion Pen, I know that it answers my call.<\/p>\n I think pen with eraser is not new. When I was young, I use to own those type of pen. However, the quality is always in question and it seems that it can be erased easily.<\/p>\n However, for Pilot Frixion Pen, it uses a thermal ink technology that can only be erased with friction. More about that later. The Pilot Frixion pen comes in different point tip. I bought the 0.5mm tip.<\/p>\n To erase, turn the pen over. There is a rubber tail plug where you can erase the ink mark.<\/p>\n BTW, this is not a rubber eraser use for\u00a0 normal pencil. It does not leave any debris after use. What I know is that it needs heat and friction to erase the ink.<\/p>\n I checked through Pilot website and here is what I got (in Japanese).<\/p>\n Here is how it looks with black ink.<\/p>\n Here is how it looks when I erase the ink.<\/p>\n I thought I made a good discovery about this pen until my friend told me that his children have been using them for a while. The fact that this pen is already available in Singapore.<\/p>\n I checked through Pilot Singapore website and true enough, it has the Frixion series but has only 1 design. It cost S$2.35 while the one I bought in Japan cost 230 yen (without tax).<\/p>\n There is also a highlighter in the Frixion series. I did not explore it at stationary stores in Singapore. However, it should be quite easy to find.<\/p>\n The question is how reliable is the ink. I have no idea yet. According to my friend, the schools do not allow it during exam.
