The film, The Social Network, opens today in Singapore. Thanks to Sony Pictures, I have the chance to view it before the official release. The story is revolves about Facebook, on how it get started and how it evolves. However, do bear in mind that the story is adapted from the Ben Mezrich\u2019s book, “The Accidental Billionaire”.<\/p>\n

On a fall night in 2003, Harvard undergrad and computer programming genius Mark Zuckerberg sits down at his computer and heatedly begins working on a new idea. In a fury of blogging and programming, what begins in his dorm room soon becomes a global social network and a revolution in communication. A mere six years and 500 million friends later, Mark Zuckerberg is the youngest billionaire in history… but for this entrepreneur, success leads to both personal and legal complications. From director David Fincher and screenwriter Aaron Sorkin comes The Social Network, a film that proves you don’t get to 500 million friends without making a few enemies.<\/p>\n

My take on the movie<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n

I watch it with a mindset that this movie is about Facebook (that is still evolving) and knowing that it is based on a book and not the actual account from Mark Zuckerberg (founder of Facebook).<\/p>\n

However, after finishing the show, I felt inspired. Imagine. A single idea, backed by a believe that it is the best idea, can be transformed into such a powerful force that changes the way people interact and businesses work.<\/p>\n

The movie does not have any special effect or big stars (except for Justin Timberlake who starred as Napster Founder, Sean Parker). It might be boring to those who don’t follow or not bothered by the social websites.<\/p>\n

However, it does make you think hard on why Facebook can become such a phenomena success and whether anyone can create such a success again or not.<\/p>\n

In a mere six years, Facebook has garner 500 million users and still growing. I wonder if anyone, after watching the movie, can come up with the next big thing, on the Internet.<\/p>\n

The movie is a “must watch” for die hard fans of Facebook and those who wishes to think out of the box on growing a business.<\/p>\n
