This is way beyond obsession. A teenager, Daniel Petric, 17, killed his Mom and wounded his dad over the game, Halo 3 for Xbox 360.<\/p>\n

Due to his obsession with the game, his father stopped him from playing Halo 3. However, instead of stopping, he plotted to killed both his parents.<\/p>\n

Tried as an adult, Petric faces a maximum possible penalty of life in prison without parole.<\/p>\n

From the report,<\/p>\n

On the night of the shooting, Petric used his father’s key to open a lockbox and remove a 9 mm handgun and the game.<\/p>\n

Mark Petric testified that his son came into the room and asked: ‘Would you guys close your eyes? I have a surprise for you.’<\/p>\n

He testified that he expected a pleasant surprise. Then his head went numb from the gunshot.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Petric fled the scene with only one thing. That is his Halo 3 game. This is gruesome murder to his parents. His father survived the gunshot and was at the courtroom when he was trialed and appeared to have forgiven him.<\/p>\n

This is beyond my imagination that an obsession with a game could lead to the gruesome murder of his own parents.<\/p>\n
