Is OPPO Find N2 Flip the Best Foldable Phone?

OPPO Find N2 Flip has been around for a while now. I had the chance to test it out a few months ago for 2 weeks. It took me a while to write this review. Is it the best foldable phone around?

As I had only 2 weeks with the OPPO Find N2 Flip, this review will not be thorough. In fact, I can only show you a few things I learned about the phone.

Check out my video if you are in a rush.

Form factor

One of the highlights about the OPPO Find N2 Flip is that it is foldable. So, does it fit into your pocket when it is folded? Is it too big or too small?

The answer is Yes and No. Let me elaborate. I am a person who carries multiple phones daily. During the review, I treated the Find N2 Flip as my secondary phone. That means, it goes everywhere I go, along with my primary phone which is the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra.

Initially, I thought that it will be great combination as the S23 Ultra is large and the Find N2 Flip is small. However, when you combine both together, they are really thick. It becomes a bulge inside my pants. I have to carry it separately.

But if this is the only phone you carry, it is really comfortable to bring along. Do note that depending on your phone cover, it may add up to the thickness of the phone. Here is a picture with the phone cover provided in the box.

Fold or not fold

Another interesting topic among all the foldable phones is whether the folding line is obvious or not. I can attest that in most cases, you will not bother with the folding line after using it for a while.

In my video, you can see that it largely depends on the angle to see or not to see the folding line. I am pretty fine with the folding line on the Find N2 Flip.

And there is one thing that OPPO did well. There is no gap in the fold. It really makes the Find N2 Flip looks sleek. And there will be lesser worries about dust or particles going into the gap.

Front Screen

Some might be curious why OPPO wants to make the front screen vertical. I think it is a genius move. First of all, a vertical screen is also similar to the phone in portrait position (not in landscape). So, when you use the main cameras to take a selfie, it is very similar to the end results when you use the front facing camera to take it.

With the competitors’ phone, you know that when you use it to take a selfie, you might have to estimate how the selfie will turn out because it is not what you see equals to what you get.

I love that the front screen has a number of useful widgets that you can use without flipping the phone. It will be much better if you can type a message using the front screen.

General Usage

When unfold, the OPPO Find N2 Flip behaves like a normal phone. If you use an Android phone before, you will have the similar experiences. Therefore, I will not elaborate on the general usage.

Summary

I love the size of the OPPO Find N2 Flip. I wish the front screen can have more features or widgets to expand its potential.

One month ago, I might say that it has the best front screen. Now, I think someone has taken over. In the next flip, I hope that it already has water and dust resistance, and the front screen can be bigger.

Overall, it has really nice design and a joy to use when I had it for two weeks.
