If you like Brompton folding bikes, you might want to take a look at the latest Brompton Electric, a foldable eBike that is LTA-approved for use in Singapore.
Unlike most e-bikes, the Brompton Electric maintains the folding of a non-electric Brompton bike. I believe the reason is it designs the battery pack to be installed on the front saddle with cables running along the body to power the 250W Brushless DC motor providing assistance up to 25 kmp/h.
Because the front saddle is taken up by the battery pack, you will not be able to fit other bags. If you need a bigger bag to store your things, you can get the Brompton 20L City bag that is sold separately.
I think this is a simple and clever design. It does not cause a big design change and yet the rider is able to enjoy the ride with some power-assist from the motor.
BTW, this is not the first Brompton Electric bike. The current one is called the ELECTRIC C LINE. Previous models are the H6L, M6L and S6L.
