What to expect on Royal Caribbean Cruise during a Pandemic

It has been a while since I travel after the start of the pandemic. So, when there is a 50% discount for the Royal Caribbean Quantum of the Seas cruise to nowhere, we grabbed it. This is actually my first time on a cruise.

I believe you have seen a lot of cruise-related vlogs. This is not one of them as I almost did not film any activities during the trip. This post is actually more about the things to prepare before and during the cruise (BTW, this is NOT a sponsored trip).

Instead, my focus is on what to prepare before the trip during a pandemic. For example, the current COVID-19 measures from the Singapore Government, taking PCR, ART tests prior to the trip, using the Royal Caribbean app to book activities and etc.

Update (23rd Oct 2021): From Royal Caribbean FAQ, there are some changes on the testing. For sailings effective November 8th, 2021, through the month of November 2021, all guests are required to complete Antigen testing at the terminal on the day of sailing as part of the terminal experience prior to boarding the ship.

There are also some information on the connectors needed on-board the Royal Caribbean cruise ship. BTW, here is a information to take note of – They are using US connectors and have 110v sockets.

In-between the video, I did capture nice weather, beautiful sunset in the middle of the open sea. And I did go for a 5km jog on the top deck of the cruise. Do check out the video.

Summary

Truthfully, I will not go on another cruise soon. Given the restriction, it is difficult to enjoy the trip with friends as the maximum is limited to 2 people anywhere during the cruise. And the pools look nice but if I can only enjoy only 10 mins at a time before I have to get out of the pool, I don’t know how anyone can enjoy it fully.

Of course, do check with the cruise company if you have queries as rules are always changing during this pandemic.

I wish I could help you in some ways before you go on your cruise. If you have further questions, do let me know on YouTube or over here.
