Today, Huawei announces the most anticipated product, the HUAWEI Mate40 series, along with other products – HUAWEI FreeBuds Studio, PORSCHE DESIGN HUAWEI WATCH GT 2, HUAWEI X GENTLE MONSTER Eyewear II smart glasses, and HUAWEI Sound wireless Hi-Fi.
I think this is the saddest closing of a happy event by Huawei, Mr. Richard Yu, CEO of the Huawei Consumer BG. He spoke briefly about the unfair US government’s third round ban.
It followed by a even sadder music to close this event.
HUAWEI Mate40 Series
The HUAWEI Mate40 Series come with 3 variants – the HUAWEI Mate40, Mate40 Pro and the Mate40 Pro+. All of them are using the latest Kirin 9000 chipset based on 5nm technology. The GPU, NPU and the CPU are upgraded to the best performance.
HUAWEI Mate40 Series is installed with EMUI 11. Interesting features on the EMUI 11 are the multi-window, multi-screen collaboration, and the EOD (Eye on Display).
With EMUI 11, Huawei is also introducing the new Petal Maps, smarter gesture controls (You can now gesture left and right) and Huawei Assistant, Celia.
Huawei is also bringing back the rocker volume switch together with the virtual volume slider. It seems to be the best of both worlds.

HUAWEI Mate40 Pro/Pro+
The Mate40 Pro/Pro+ has IP68 rated, a 6.76-inch screen, and a 90Hz refresh rate. The Mate40 Pro has 4,400 mAh of battery, 66W fast charging, and 50W wireless charging.
There is no pricing or availability date for the Singapore market yet. According to the PR, Singapore can look forward to the HUAWEI Mate 40 Pro variant in Black and Mystic Silver, with pricing and availability to be revealed soon. There is no mention of the Pro+.

Marrying iconic design with innovative technology, HUAWEI Mate 40 Pro and HUAWEI Mate 40 Pro+ are informed by the design principle that form manifests function. The uncompromised design of the HUAWEI 88° Horizon Display creates an immersive viewing experience in a compact package, while the silky curve also means the devices are comfortable to hold. The handsets also offer IP 68 dust and water resistance, a choice of both virtual and physical volume controls and enhanced mistouch prevention algorithms.

I like the PD HUAWEI Mate40 RS design. It has a very unique camera module. And it has the most powerful camera system from Huawei.
It also has another feature that is truly unique to PD HUAWEI Mate40 RS. It has an Infra-red thermo-sensor that is capable of measuring temperature from -20 deg Celcius to 100 deg Celcius.

HUAWEI FreeBuds Studio
The HUAWEI FreeBuds Studio is something I did not anticipate. I think this is a good move for Huawei to product its own sound accessories, especially an over-ear headphones.
It comes in 2 color – Gold and Black.
It has a good ANC specs. It comes with 6 microphones which I think will be good for noise cancelling during a call. The battery is also amazing.

HUAWEI Sound
The HUAWEI Sound is the smaller of the HUAWEI Sound X that was launched recently. It is co-engineered with DEVIALET. In terms of shape, it has the similar shape as Sound X. The pricing is 199 Euro.
HUAWEI Accessories
Huawei introduces 2 new accessories – the Ring Light Case and the M-Pen 2. One of the more oes is the Ring Light Case. You can use the ring light to lighten up the face. It can be charged wirelessly using reverse charging on the Huawei phone.
