Unboxing the Special OnePlus 8 Package and How to Get Special Edition Premiums

Yesterday, I had a special delivery to my house. A package with the word “Never Settle”. I believe some of you might already have guessed that the package is from OnePlus. You are correct.

Thanks to OnePlus, I can get my hand on the OnePlus 8 for review. What I did not expect is that it comes with a nice package consisting of a book, bumper covers, and the unit itself. Here is my unboxing experience.

Before I go further, I am sure many are interested to get their hand on OnePlus 8 series. Currently, there is a pre-order promotion where you can get limited edition items upon ordering.

The pre-order is from 24th April to 7th May 2020. Starting from 8th May 2020, the exclusive launch will be made available on Lazada for a period of two weeks.

For shoppers who placed their pre-orders on the official OnePlus store on Lazada (via LazMall), you will receive the following limited edition items (worth S$149):

  • 1x Cyan Bumper Case
  • 1x Nylon Bumper Case

Ok, back to the unboxing, check out some of the pictures below on my OnePlus 8 review unit.

Underneath the book is OnePlus 8 and the different covers.

The color of the OnePlus 8 review unit is Stellar Glow. I love it.

Here is the front of the OnePlus 8. It has a curve edge.

And the front-facing camera is a tiny cut-out hole on the left-hand side.

This is the speaker grille for you to listen to your call. Very tiny/thin stripe on the top.

On the back is the rear cameras.

It has 3 rear cameras – 48 MPX main camera, 2 MPX Macro Camera, and a 16 MPX Ultra-wide camera. Unfortunately, it does not have optical zoom but has an in-sensor zoom of 2x.

On the top side, you can only see a microphone. Notice that there is a camera bump. Some people might not like it but if you add in the silicon casing, it will be flushed.

On the bottom side, you can see the speaker grille, the USB-C port, and the SIM card slot.

On this side, there is only the rocker button for volume.

Here is a close-up.

On the other side, there is a power ON/OFF button and a slider switch for switching between ringer, vibrate, or silent.

Here is a close-up.

Inside the box, there is also a silicon cover.

And the 30W Charger with the USB-C cable.

I have just powered on the device. I will take a week or two to review it. Let me know if you have any questions.
