Latest Update from Huawei Reveals New Navigation Gestures

If you are holding on to the Huawei latest phone, the HUAWEI Mate30 Series, chances are that you might be able to get updated to the latest software.

First of all, you need to know where to get the update. Check if you have this app, “Support” on your phone. If you don’t have, download it.

Just for your information, previously, this app is known as “HiCare”.

Once you enter the app, select “More”.

Next, select “Update”

You will get to this screen. Click on “Check for Updates”.

If yours is the latest version. It will be displayed as shown below. If not, follow the instruction to update it.

After the upgrade, you might be getting 10.0.0.203. My Mate30 Pro is a review unit, so the base firmware might be region-sensitive and different from Singapore version.

BTW, some of you might be thinking that there is an easier way to update.

  • Go to “Settings”
  • Click on “System & Updates”
  • Go to “Software update”
  • Click on “Check for Updates”

You are correct. However, from my experiences, you may not get the prompt for the latest firmware version. I am not sure why. If you want the latest update, follow my instructions as described above..

Here is the changelog.

I took a while to get use to the swipe or the new navigation gestures. If you want to see how to do it, check out this video.
