Vivo NEX 3 Launch in Singapore and Unboxing Video

Thanks to Vivo, I was invited to the Vivo NEX 3 Launch at Bedok Mall a couple of weeks ago. It was actually a roadshow with exclusive promo deals. At the event, we got to know more about the Vivo NEX 3 and its features.

And the special guest for the event was Elvin Ng. I guessed the happiest people are his fans (Elvinology) who were there to support him.

I did an unboxing of the Vivo NEX 3. Do note that this is more like a First Look than a comprehensive review. Check out the unboxing video.

Here are more pictures of the Vivo NEX 3. As the sides are made of glass (waterfall display), you will have that feeling that you are going to hit the glass by the side. It is good that Vivo provides you a cover to protect it.

Check out the elevating front camera that will only appear if you use the front camera, or if you fail to unlock your phone for more than 3 times (you must set up this feature first).

And on the back, it has a very distinct round module that houses the cameras.

Here is a close up of the camera.

  • Camera – Front: 16MP, Rear: 64MP + 13MP + 13MP
  • Aperture – Front: f/2.09 (16MP), Rear: f/1.8 (64MP) + f/2.2 (13MP) + f/2.48 (13MP)
  • Flash – Selfie lighting, Rear flash

On the bottom, it has the SIM Card Tray, the USB-C port, and the speaker grille.

On the top, it has the 3.5mm jack (rare to find it on a flagship smartphone nowadays), the front elevating camera module.

On the side, as mentioned in the unboxing video, it has no buttons. Instead, it uses Touch Sense (power on/off, volume up/down) which are virtual switches with haptic feedback.

The power on/off is identified by this patterned surface by the side. In my opinion, you will need some time to get used to the Touch Sense.

This is not the full review but a simple unboxing and first look of the Vivo NEX 3.

Let me know if you have any questions regarding the Vivo NEX 3.
