You Need to Get This if You Travel to Singapore

I wish every country has this when I visit them. I think this is the most important thing for most tourists when visiting a country. This “thing” is “data”, specifically mobile data for you to connect to the rest of the world.

If you are in Singapore for a few days (and traveling on public transport), and you know that you cannot miss visiting nearby countries like Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand or even Australia, this is the card you must get.

Say hi to Singtel hi!Tourist EZ-Link SIM Card. It is a mouthful to say but it says it all. You have a SIM card with EZ-Link feature. For those who have never been to Singapore, EZ-Link is how most people in Singapore used, to travel on buses or MRT or LRT (they are trains).

What is Singtel hi!Tourist EZ-Link SIM Card

This hi!Tourist EZ-Link SIM card combines two services for tourists – the card functions as a prepaid SIM as well as a stored value travel card that can be used on public transport services in Singapore.

At S$18, it includes 100GB of 4G data and 1GB of roaming data for these countries – Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand and Australia. It also comes with S$3 credit for rides in Singapore public trains and buses (and you can top up more if you need).

That is not all, it has unlimited access to social media (Facebook, LINE, WeChat and WhatsApp) and if you (tourist) present the card, you can also enjoy a free round trip on Singapore Cable Car – Sentosa Line (worth S$15) as well as up to 25% off selected Sentosa attractions and packages with One Faber Group, and exclusive dining offers with restaurant reservation and dining portal HungryGoWhere and KFC.

Here are the perks you can get with this card.

Where Can You Get It

The SIM card is available for purchase at any Singtel shop, Singtel Exclusive Retailer, Travelex Currency Exchange Counter at Singapore Changi Airport, 7-Eleven, Cheers or participating retailers islandwide.

What are the hidden Terms and Conditions

Of course, there are terms and conditions. The only thing I don’t like is that it is only valid for 7 days.

  • 7-day validity period (SIM Card value will expire within 7 days from the date of card registration).
  • + Fair usage of 1GB per day applies for free access to Facebook, LINE, WeChat and WhatsApp.
  • ++ Local and International Calls are charged based on per minute blocks.
  • For full list of promotions and Terms and Conditions, refer to www.singtel.com/hitourist.

If I am a tourist, I will definitely get this card. Follow this link below to check it out.

PS: There are actually other options if you wish to stay longer in Singapore. However, they are without the EZ-Link feature. Check this table out.
