Meet DJI Osmo Pocket, the Smallest 3-Axis Gimbal (video)

If you think DJI Osmo or Osmo Plus is small, check this out. DJI has launched the DJI Osmo Pocket, their smallest 3-axis handheld stabilizer that uses mechanical stabilization (gimbal) as opposed to electronics (EIS) or optical stabilization (OIS).

And the specs are impressive. It has an image sensor that is on par with current snap and shoot cameras and can record up to 4K at 60fps.

But just how small is the DJI Osmo Pocket? Check this out.

The model seems to be larger than the camera head. What is interesting is that DJI even incorporates a touch screen into this small device.

However, what is missing is a speaker. I believe DJI must have thought about it and has an interesting way to expand the function of this Osmo Pocket. With the adapter provided (for Lightning and USB-C port), you can plug the Pocket Osmo besides your phone.

Together with their new Mimo App, you have full control of the camera. I love this! My only wish is that it will be good to have a wider angle (currently FOV is 80°) or to be able to switch between standard and wider angle.

Most of the people are comparing it with GoPro Hero7. However, in my opinion, the only comparison might be relevant is the quality of the video or images. The reasons are because Osmo Pocket is not waterproof and will not do well with extreme sports and Osmo has a mechanical Gimbal whereas GoPro is using software for video stabilization.

Nevertheless, because of its small size, it is definitely something people would like to compare.
