LG HOM-BOT TURBO+ SCARES OFF BURGLAR AND KEEPS HOME SAFE IN ISRAEL
ISRAEL, June 26, 2018 — Home security is growing in importance among consumers worldwide. More people are investing in security systems to keep their homes safe, especially when they aren’t there. On April 29, Kobi Ozer was working in his office when he received photos of an intruder on his smartphone. His HOM-BOT sent him the images via LG SmartThinQ™, an app that allows a smartphone to control and manage home appliances. Thanks to its Home-Guard feature, the HOM-BOT took pictures after detecting unusual movement and sent them to Ozer.
The LG HOM-BOT Turbo+ is robot vacuum cleaner featuring remote control and motion detection that works along with SmartThinQ™. It cleans the house avoiding collisions and covering every corner, even those hard to access. As an added plus, the device features the home security functions, Home-View and Home-Guard, which monitor a home and give alerts in the event of a break-in or intrusion. The Home-View function allows users to view their home and remotely control anytime and anywhere through the front camera on the HOM-BOT. While the Home-View function helps users to control the vacuum, the Home-Guard turns the robot into a home security device. When the HOM-BOT detects movement through its sensors, it sends five images in sequence to a mobile phone and alert the user of unusual movement.
This is what happened at Ozer’s home. The HOM-BOT detected suspicious movement and started to take pictures once a burglar broke in. Once alerted, Ozer called the police and his neighbor. The burglar had fled probably after the HOM-BOT flashed its lights, but fortunately, nothing at home was missing or damaged.
