Now, you can change the boring blue arrow on Google Maps for iOS to a vehicle icon. Aesthetically, it might make your driving more interesting when using the Google Maps. Otherwise, it actually does nothing.
So, if you are driving an SUV, you might change it to an SUV icon to better reflect your current ride. Not sure why it is limited to iOS only at the moment. Anyway, it does not improve or change any of the features on Google Maps.
