Have You Registered Your PAB? (video)

Have you registered your PAB (Power-Assisted Bicycle)? If you have an existing sealed PABs, you have up to 31 January 2018 to register your PABs online via www.onemotoring.com.sg using Singpass/CorpPass/EASY, or at any SingPost post offices.

Here is an excerpt from OneMotoring website on PAB registration.

To improve the safety of other road users, including pedestrians, PABs that are used on public roads or cycling/shared paths must be type-approved, sealed and registered.  The registration of PABs will also enhance LTA’s enforcement against the use of non-compliant PABs.

I know the registration plate is ugly but rules are rules. If you have not done so, do it quickly. Currently, the highlights are PMD (Portable Mobility Device), PEV (Portable Electric Vehicles), PAB (Power-Assisted Bicycle). Many PEV/PMD users had been caught flouting the rules. I am sure the next one will be PABs.

FYI. PABs are not allowed on the shared pavement. However, I do see a lot of people are still on it. Of course, one of the reasons is safety (for themselves). I can imagine how dangerous it will be if all the PABs are on the road. Not many are savvy PAB riders. They may not have the experiences to co-share the road with vehicles. I am not sure how the authorities are going to maintain this rule.

Here is a video showing how you can register via OneMotoring website.

Or you can visit the website for more details like transferring, deregistering PABs and etc.
