Samsung to Refund Owners of Samsung Galaxy Note7 in Singapore

Latest news from Samsung. Samsung Singapore has issued an official statement on the “remedy” of the Samsung Galaxy Note7. This is actually good news for all Note7 owners since the replacement did not solve the overheat issue on the smartphone.

Below are the options available for Samsung Galaxy Note7 owners who bought their units in Singapore. For the procedure on how to go about with the refund/exchange programme, you will need to wait. Samsung is in discussion with various partners on it. Thankfully, Samsung is accepting refund of their units instead of dragging this issue.

Singapore customers will be able to: –

  • Exchange their Galaxy Note7 for another device, with a refund of the price difference between device
  • Return their Galaxy Note7 for a refund.

Samsung Announces Resolution for Galaxy Note7 Customers in Singapore

Singapore, 12 October 2016 – Samsung Electronics Singapore announces remedy options for Galaxy Note7 customers in Singapore, following its advisory for Galaxy Note7 customers to power down and stop using the device.

Singapore customers will be able to exchange their Galaxy Note7 for another device, with a refund of the price difference between devices. Alternatively, they may return their Galaxy Note7 for a refund.

The company is in close discussions with its telecommunication operator and retail partners, and details on how Galaxy Note7 customers can go about the exchange or refund will be provided soon.  All Galaxy Note7 customers are urged to take up the options when these are made available to them.

Samsung is also looking into remedies for Galaxy Note7 customers who purchased the Samsung Concierge service.
