On 2nd August, Samsung will show the world their latest Galaxy Note – Samsung Galaxy Note7 in Samsung Unpacked 2016 live event. The event will take place at 11:00 a.m. EDT in New York. And at least one vendor has announced the accessories for it. Scroll down to check them out.
I am surprised at the no surprise from Samsung. Instead of waiting for someone to speculate the device or the name, they let everyone knows that they will be showcasing the Galaxy Note7, not Note6. And here is their reason for skipping Galaxy Note6.
First and foremost though, you might be curious as to why it’s called Galaxy Note7 instead of Galaxy Note6. There are a couple reasons why. First, the Galaxy Note7 will complement our Galaxy S7 and S7 edge, and unify our product portfolio. Second, the Galaxy Note7 will minimize confusion about the latest mobile technology from Samsung, and provide full alignment with Galaxy S smartphone.
In my opinion, another reason might be next generation iPhone might be called iPhone 7. So, they have to keep up with the naming convention.
Samsung Unpacked 2016
Not sure why, Samsung is using Samsung Galaxy Note7 (without spacing) and not Note 7 (with spacing) in their official news release. It is not the first time that they are changing minor details in the name. For example, previously, their GALAXY is spelled with full capital letters. It was later that they changed it to the current one – Galaxy.

Samsung Galaxy Note7 Leaked Images
From the leaks, the Note7 will have curve edge on both sides like the S7 Edge or the S6 Edge Plus. Of course, it will have a stylus. The one thing I hope is that it is waterproof like S7 or S7 edge.
Based on the leaked images, it might come with iris scan!
