Brand new high capacity, easily portable drives for content creators and gamers now available for sale in Singapore.

SINGAPORE — Aug. 28, 2015 — At the upcoming COMEX 2015 show, Seagate Technology, a world leader in storage solutions, will have available for sale two of its newest drives – the new Seagate® Backup Plus family of external storage and Seagate Game Drive for Xbox®. The new Backup Plus family includes 200GB of OneDrive cloud storage, an unmatched value for the category, and the addition of Lyve’s photo and video management app. Seagate Game Drive for Xbox® is the first external drive designed to complement the Xbox One™ or Xbox 360® gaming consoles.

At the show, Seagate will also showcase a new high capacity for the popular 2.5-inch Backup Plus portable drive – 4TB in a sleek 20.5mm height. This is the highest capacity 2.5-inch portable hard drive currently available in the market, with high-speed USB3.0 connectivity without the need for an external power supply.

Microsoft OneDrive

Seagate’s award-winning Backup Plus family of external storage offerings will now include 200GB of OneDrive cloud storage.

The OneDrive cloud storage provided by Microsoft is an added feature designed to provide accessibility to one’s content on every device. A powerful tool to enhance productivity, OneDrive allows easy access to your most important files from any connected mobile device and keeps documents that are in progress up to date on each of those devices for sharing and collaborating with whomever you choose.

OneDrive makes it easy to work with others on Office documents, and to have your most important files always available on your PC, Mac, phone and tablet,” said Angus Logan, director, product marketing, Microsoft. “Our seamless and easy-to-use cloud solution is a natural fit for people that are using Seagate Backup Plus.”

Photo and Video Management with Lyve

The Seagate Backup Plus family of external drives will also feature Lyve app and service, which helps consumers collect, organize and enjoy their photos and videos. The Lyve app helps to organize the overwhelming number of photos and video scattered across a consumer’s life and synchronizes and de-duplicates the collections across all devices, improving organization and access. It is compatible with iOS, Android, Windows and Mac OS X. The Lyve app combines all photos and videos from a consumer’s devices into a single collection making it easy to find, share and enjoy all photos and videos, anytime and anywhere.

“Seagate Technology continues to innovate at a fast pace based on the ever changing needs of its customers,” said Jingwen Li, research analyst, storage systems for IDC. “With features such as OneDrive cloud storage, Lyve app, and the new 4TB capacity point, Seagate Backup Plus family addresses the growing needs for data storage and backup with flexible data access and simple data management in the personal storage market.”

“We continue to evolve our backup offerings with new software enhancements and the addition of features that add greater value through marketing partnerships with companies such as Microsoft, the provider of OneDrive cloud storage and Lyve Minds, developer of the photo and video management solution,” said Mark Whitby, senior vice president of Seagate branded products group.
