Goodbye, Flappy Bird, you had been a distraction

If you have not downloaded Flappy Bird, you will not be able to download it on iOS or Google Play Store now. Its creator, Dong Nguyen, has decided to remove the game suddenly. In his tweet a day ago, he mentioned that he “cannot take it anymore”.

Some people, including me, thought that the tweet is a marketing stunt. Who in the right mind will want to pull a successful game out, right?

From source, the game might have rake in US$50,000 a day in ad revenue. His success is the dream of any developer, in my opinion. Of course, he might has his reason(s) to do so.

Some had mentioned that he ripped off the game from some other games. In my opinion, his game is successful is because it is so simple and yet so difficult to master. It is interesting to hear stories that he has copied his game from some other games. If this is the case, you can easily go to any app stores and pull out a dozen games that are so similar to one another.

So, if you have downloaded the app, congrats.
