Leica M camera designed by Jony Ive sold for USD1.8 million

Someone actually fork out USD1.8 million for a Leica M camera. Of course, this is not an ordinary Leica M camera. It is designed by Apple’s Jony Ive and Marc Newson, and it is one of the kind in the world today.

It has the minimalist look like every Apple product. However, in my opinion, it may not be practical in a real life. I would like my camera to have protruding dials for easy change of functions instead of flat dials (unless I am missing something here). BTW, this is one of the items for Sotheby’s RED charity auction to fight AIDS in Africa.

From source, they expect the camera to be sold around USD500,000 to USD750,000 but I guess someone (rich) really like it a lot.
