Thanks to LG, a group of us were able to try out the latest LG Optimus G Pro that is going to hit Singapore shore early this month. At 5.5-inch, it has the same size as its competitor, Samsung GALAXY Note II and a tad smaller than the LG Optimus G that was launched earlier this year.
The first impression of the LG Optimus G Pro is it has a slim bezel and the Full HD IPS Display is very nice. However, as with many phones nowadays, it has a plasticky feel. Here are some views of the LG Optimus G Pro.

Note that the black thing on the left is just plastic protection. The unit is new and I did not take out this layer of plastic.

As you can see, the Infra-red sensor is next to the 3.5mm jack. It has a remote app that you can use with this sensor to control TV and etc.

Front
The LG Optimus G Pro has a detachable cover and battery. In my opinion, it has the nicest internal layout I have seen on smartphones.

As the LG Optimus G Pro has a fast processor, apps running on it seems snappy. There is basically no lag. As with Optimus G, it has the usual LG apps on it (like the QSlide 2.0). It has also some interesting features like the VR Panorama and the Dual Camera. The VR Panorama uses the sensors on the smartphone when capturing images. When you move the phone around, the image will move accordingly (aka Virtual Reality).
Other than that, it has feature like eye sensing (to pause a video when the eyes are shifted from the screen). Here is short video on the phone.
BTW, there is a black version of this LG Optimus G Pro. My preference is still the white one. Here are some images of the black unit.
As it is a preview, I will not make any judgement on it. The LG Optimus G Pro will be available this month at a RRP of S$868.
