Madrid, Spain, 28 June, 2013: Huawei, a leading global information and communications technology (ICT) solutions provider, has signed an agreement with Liga Nacional de Fútbol Profesional (LFP) to become its exclusive Technological Partner in the smartphone sector. As Walter Ji, CEO of Huawei in Spain and Portugal, said, “we are delighted with the beginning of this partnership with the National Professional Football League that will, without a doubt, result in a great push to reach our consumers. At Huawei we want to offer the best devices to the most demanding users, and this agreement will allow us to reinforce this strategy from the values that football and sports in general represent”.

Following this idea of approaching customers through its wide catalog of mobile devices, Huawei has trusted football again as a suitable transmitter of the positive values of sport. At the moment, Huawei Device sells innovative devices to millions of users. It is one of the main manufacturers of smartphones and a worldwide leader in home devices and wireless broadband. The goal of the company is to be situated among the leader mobile phone manufacturers in 2015.

The company has already participated in other international sports sponsorships, among which stands out an agreement with Eurosport, signed last July, to broadcast the most important sports events of the summer, or the agreement to sponsor the Italian Supercup, when Inter of Milan and A.C. Milan played at the Beijing National Stadium (known as “the Bird’s Nest”). In Spain, Huawei sponsored Atlético de Madrid in various games last year, the most relevant of which was the UEFA Supercup match against Chelsea C.F., which was broadcast in Europe, Africa, Japan, the United States and South America.
