Singapore Cable Car Hosts Celebration to Kickoff
World’s First Angry Birds Cable Car Ride
Experience a fun-filled three-day launch carnival from 1-3 June to start off the seven-months of Angry Birds Adventure Atop Mount Faber
Singapore, 1 June 2012 – Come one, come all! Starting today at noon, Singapore Cable Car (SCC) invites all who enjoy a squawkin’ good time to visit Mount Faber and be a part of a three-day launch carnival as SCC unveils the World’s First Angry Birds Cable Car Ride.
The debut of these one-of-a-kind cable cars is one of the main attractions surrounding “Angry Birds Adventure Atop Mount Faber”, running from June to December 2012, which brings the worldwide gaming phenomenon to life through interactive games, creative workshops and thematic cable car rides that are unlike any other.
“The Singapore Cable Car is a national icon that brings fond memories to the minds of many Singaporeans and tourists who have travelled with us. Now into our 38th year of operation, we have constantly invested in our cable car technology and enhanced the riding experience by introducing many ‘world’s first’ entertaining and creative elements to appeal to the locals and families,” said Mr Chan Chee Chong, General Manager of Mount Faber Leisure Group.
“Now, we’ve upped the ante by integrating one of the world’s most popular mobile games with our attraction to create a truly unique experience for Singaporeans and tourists. With the World’s First Angry Birds Cable Car, the best gateway to Sentosa is now transformed into a fun-filled riding adventure with a host of Angry Birds-themed activities that will keep families, tourists and couples coming back for more throughout the year,” added Mr. Chan.
A first-time collaboration between SCC and the creator of the successful franchise, Rovio Entertainment, the “Angry Birds Adventure Atop Mount Faber” is part of a strategic rejuvenation exercise for SCC, following an extensive 10-month refurbishment project in 2010 to equip each cabin with the latest safety technology, as well as modern riding luxuries. SCC also recently unveiled a new corporate identity including a vibrantly coloured new logo to reflect the vitality of the family-friendly attraction.
“Angry Birds is all about being innovative and fun, and the Singapore Cable Car is a perfect fit for us considering these aspects. It is an honour to be working with Singapore Cable Car on this seven-month initiative as the partnership has helped to bring our game to life in ways unimaginable! Join in the chase with the World’s First Angry Birds Cable Car Ride
During the exciting three-day launch carnival, visitors can be among the first in the world to hop on-board the World’s First Angry Birds Cable Car, take fun photos with life-sized Angry Birds characters in costume during meet and greet sessions at the launch, and participate in themed games where exclusive memorabilia will be given away. The carnival marks the start of the Angry Birds Adventure Atop Mount Faber, which will continue until December 2012.
The World’s First Angry Birds Cable Car Ride provides guests with a full-sensorial experience the moment they step aboard one of 30 Angry Birds wrapped cabins. Travelling sky-high, guests will be surrounded by sounds of Angry Birds chirping and pigs snorting, with an Angry Birds plush toy placed in selected cabins. With every purchase of a cable car ticket, riders will also receive a complimentary Angry Birds face mask and a mocktail served in a limited edition Angry Birds tumbler.
Diehard Angry Birds fans can also flock to Mount Faber to catch a glimpse of the three specially designed, fully-wrapped cable car cabins depicting the iconic birds chase with the green pig!
Different ‘egg-citing’ experiences every month
Angry Birds Adventure atop Mount Faber offers a different engaging experience for the entire family every month from June to December, including creative learning workshops for children from as young as four. During the June school holidays, families with children can partake in ‘egg-citing’ activities that include colouring competitions, egg painting activities and balloon sculpting. After completing all the workshops, join us and experience the live Angry Bird game booths and iPad game stations situated within and around the cable car stations at Imbiah Lookout on Sentosa and Mount Faber.
Workshops designed for pre-schoolers and primary school students in mind will be available at economically priced packages (S$30 child, S$35 adult), which include a cable car ride and museum tour, entry into all arts and creative workshops, and free admission to Sentosa.
