Review: HTC ONE X First Look

Just received my HTC ONE X review set. When the unit arrived yesterday, I could not understand why everyone is so hyped over it. I know it has good specs but many other brands have good specs too. It is only when I touch it, I realize that it is a totally different feel. And when I uses the camera, I am totally “Wow!”. More about that later.

I was provided a white one for the review, and I totally love it immediately. It is a subtle matte white which I got to know that the body is made of the same material as Nokia Lumia 800, Polycarbonate. The screen is made from Corning Gorilla Glass with that slight curve.

As you can see, HTC ONE X is powered by Beats Audio.

It has a 8-Megapixels rear camera with F2.0 aperture on the back.

And has one of the smallest flash I have seen on a HTC device.

Like it or not, the HTC ONE X rear camera is NOT flushed to the body. It is protruding as shown below. I have no problem with that.

The front camera is a 1.3 Megapixels camera.

The phone is very light, even though it has a 4.7-inch screen. The body is slightly curve and it feels good when you hold it in your hand.

The phone has a very minimalist look.

The phone has a built in battery and internal storage. It is using Micro SIM and HTC has provided a special tool to take out the Micro SIM port.

This is the tool for the Micro SIM slot.

There is a pin hole by the side of the Micro SIM slot. Use the tool to push out the slot.

This is the Micro SIM slot taken out from the HTC ONE X.

I compare it with iPhone 4S. They are quite similar.

Here is the look of the earphone that is provided.

And the charger. Nowadays, charger comes in this shape (like a 3-pin plug).

The USB port.

If you notice, the USB port is providing an output of 5v and 1A (1000mA). That is going to charge the HTC ONE X in a fast mode.

In my follow up review, I will be talking about the camera and the various filters that is in-built into it. It has seriously a very good and fast camera. Keep pressing the shutter and I can get 20 shots in a few seconds. The flash, although small is very bright. For now, that is it. Hope you like this little picture intensive first look.

BTW, I did check out Instagram app with HTC ONE X. It says that the phone is NOT compatible with it.

Hope that Instagram can fix that ASAP.
