Scalado Rewind Lets You Take the Best Group Picture

Actually, the title of this blog post does not do justice to the Scalado’s “Rewind” function. Imagine taking a group picture. I am sure there are times when some did not look at the camera, or some blink their eyes. What if you are able to choose the best individual face in the group picture from a set of burst pictures? Cannot understand? Read on.

I got to know Scalado last year at CommunicAsia 2010. It has innovations that really make me stay at their booth for a long time. This year, I missed the chance to meet up with them. Nevertheless, I am going to show you what innovation that they have come out since last year.

Rewind is one of Scalado’s innovation. With Rewind, example on your phone, it can takes 5 to 10 burst pictures with its patented image software/code. According to them, it can take 12 to 15 pictures per seconds in 10-MegaPixels quality with no problem. Of course, it also has to depends on how many pictures the hardware+sensor can manage.

This is NOT all. After taking the pictures with Rewind, you can actually go to individual face to select from the burst pictures the best face to represent the picture. Rewind has the means to stitch the face nicely to the picture.

Here is a video that shows you how it can be done.

Interesting? From my understanding, Scalado does not produce any app (yet). They are working with other companies to incorporate their technology. So, for now, you can ogle at this product.
