Authorities Followed Time Square Bomber but Only on Twitter and Facebook

I thought that this is a joke. However, as I read on, I am convinced that this is really what happened. Apparently, US authorities has taken note of bombing suspect Faisal Shahzad and befriended him on Facebook and followed his update on Twitter, but NOT physically following him!

Based on the report,

A spokesman for the surveillance team following the suspected terrorist said that they were closely monitoring Mr. Shahzad’s tweets, “but he must have figured something out because all of a sudden he blocked us.”

I hope this will not happen in Singapore. It is good to follow suspects on Social Network but there is a limit to the effectiveness. In this case, it is a good example. BTW, the surveillance team even played Farmville with the allege suspect.
