Singapore Gets its 9th Influenza A H1N1 Case

Singapore confirms its 9th H1N1 case yesterday evening. This time, it hits a teenager who arrived from New York via Tokyo.

Singapore 8th Influenza A H1N1 Case Confirmed

Over the weekend and early Monday, two more confirmed H1N1 cases appeared. Read all about them here.

Now, the 8th case was also confirmed. A 15 year old became the first to be detected by the thermal scanner at the Changi Airport on Sunday after his school trip at Orlando and Atlanta in the United States. He was immediately hospitalized.

On Tuesday, he was confirmed to be the 8th cases. Contact tracing started for the 6th, 7th and the 8th person.

H1N1 Swine Flu “Wonder Girls” Song – Video Link

H1N1 is creating terrible time for us. It is sad that people die from it. However, I have to share this video with everyone as it lightens up the mood and also I think the lyrics in the song is really educational. You may need a Singaporean to decode the lyrics at some point.

Influenza A (H1N1): Singapore announces 5th Person Infected

Singapore announces its 5th case of Influenza A. This time it is from 22 year old woman who was in the United States from 13th to 28th May and returned to Singapore from New York via Tokyo on an All Nippon Airways flight.

From Straits Times,

The patient was seated at row 36 on the plane, and based on MOH’s risk assessment, passengers within rows 34 to 38 on the NH901 flight on 29 May should call the MOH hotline at 1800-333 9999.

Twitter Used to Create Awareness on Singapore 1st H1N1 Case, Netizen Slams TNP for Sensationalizing It

Do you know that, besides the main stream Media, Twitter is used in spreading the news of H1N1 in Singapore? Many twitterer retweeted (RT) the message from FluSingapore after seeing it on Twitter, thus hoping to ensure that the spread of the virus is contained quickly.

However, one netizen is very angry at TNP (The New Paper). Instead of spreading the information needed to contain the virus, it discloses the name of the patient zero and yet did not disclose her flight number, according to his blog post.
