The iPhone is heating up or already in overdrive. M1 has up its plan to include a free 12 GB Data instead of the initial 10 GB.
Starhub has capped the data plan from SG$48 to SG$48.
This this going to be the end of the Price Plan war? I think the only person smiling will be the customers.

As mentioned this morning, I am unhappy that the new SmartSurf Plan is much value-added than my current PowerValue Plan. Just called up Starhub Customer Service (1633) and spoken to a person by the name of Ross to confirm the differences and at the end of the call, I am more disappointed.

Since the announcement of the sales of Apple iPhone from Starhub and M1 on Monday, the price war has erupted. When Starhub announces iPhone, it has 4 new Smartsurf plans for user to choose when purchasing the iPhone, starting with free 1 GB data with the most expensive price with unlimited data.
However, after M1 announces their Price Plan that includes a free 10GB data plan, Starhub immediately reacted by “improving” their price plan by increasing the free data from 1 GB to 12 GB. I started to look at my own price plan (I am subscribing to Starhub PowerValue 300 at SG$48.15 + 1GB data plan at SG$19.90). This is when I feel uncomfortable…

The news are flying fast. HTC HD2 is “heard” to be selling at SG$348 if you pre-order from HTC during the Sitex 2009 (a discount of SG150) with a PowerValue 300 plan (SG$48.15). This information is taken via Twitter (OCWorkbench) and I source around and found it from lukeforceone.

I digged the news and it reaches Mobinauts (previously known as PPCSG) and they were discussing about the pricing as Starhub started to contact those on the list.
So, I extracted their information.
Original (SG$598) – (SG$150 from Sitex 2009) and with Starhub PV300 = SG$348
Original (SG$598) – (SG150 from Sitex 2009) and with Starhub PV100 = SG$448
Do not quote me. But if this is true, HTC HD2 is sold at a very cheap price and with trade-in, the deal is even sweeter!
Finger Crossed for Starhub to contact me!
