Just a few days ago, I blogged about HTC Hero with Android 2.1. It seems that HTC embedded a list of phone codenames deep inside their ROM. Some of them familiar, like the Dragon and etc. Others are totally fresh!

Since Google’s announcement of its own Navigation software a few weeks ago, it has created a lot of interest. One of the reasons, I think, is because current Map Navigation Software on the Market is NOT free. Google Maps Navigation (Beta) is free and has a list of features that will make those Navigation Map company rethink their strategy.
Today, Engadget reported that someone from XDA forum has managed to make it work on the G1 Android. So, what is the big deal?

This is not the official Android 2.0 (Eclair). It is actually a SDK. Someone actually ported it into the HTC Dream (or Google G1, whichever you call it) and it seems to be working pretty fine. So, if you want to sneak peek at Android 2.0, this 9 minutes plus video will be a joy to you

As I had mentioned in my previous post that Singtel has arranged many Dream handsets during the launch, I am able to talk to the people there and play around the phone. Before the launch, I was quite skeptical over it. I never thought that the touch screen is so smooth (thanks to the capacitive screen) and also the menus are easy to understand.
I have made a video on the hands on by a Google employee (while I was talking to him) and also a live demonstration and some tips on HTC Dreams by HTC product Manager, Calvin.

This join event from Singtel, Google and HTC was helod at Singtel ComCentre Theatrette. It was opened to selected Media, bloggers and people in the related field.
I think this was a well organised event. There were many HTC Dream phones for people to hands on. People were friendly and willing to answer any questions. Free flow of drinks and food throughout. Kudos to Singtel, Googles and HTC ..
