This pre-order is exclusive to Sony members only. If you are one of them, I think you will get this information already.

Now the biggest question is how much this Vaio P is going to cost. I am actually quite shock to see the price with their bundled specs. Sony is famous for making everything so pricey.

If you take a look at the above picture, you can see that the SSD configuration is at SG$1699. Wow, that is a lot to pay for at this configuration.

And the other offer at SG$1299 has only a 60GB Hardisk.

However, if you look at the weight, it is only 594grams for the VGN-P15G (SSD spec) and 620grams for VGN-P13H. Also note that for SSD spec, you have 5 colours to choose from while the Hardisk version, you have only 3 colours.

BTW, this promotion is from 9th Jan 09 to 8th Feb 09. The unit will only arrive from 17th February. I guess the only good thing about this bundle is that you get the pouch free. No mention of the processor although I think everyone knows that it is an Atom.

Now, for the cruel part. See it being taken apart. Actually not so cruel as the job is done by a Sony Engineer, according to the source.

Notice that in fact the internal is very neat and minimal. Sony has done a good job here.

In short, to get Windows 7, you have to buy a new computer system.

And this will only happen in July, 2009.

One more important thing is that it is up to OEM vendor to provide this free upgrade to Windows 7 for the qualified systems. You are now at the mercy of these retail vendors.

However, according to downloadsquad, vendor will usually provide such upgrades.

BTW, here are the detailed qualification for the getting Windows 7 installed to your computer.

• End users must purchase a new PC that is pre-installed with an eligible Windows Vista OS. Retail boxed Vista versions likely won’t qualify.
• Your computer must have a valid Windows Vista COA attached.
• The only Windows Vista® versions eligible for the program are Home Premium, Business, and Ultimate. Vista basic users are out of luck.

SONY Unveils WORLD’s Lightest 8-inch notebook

Full-Featured VAIO PC Fuses Style, Mobility and Connectivity for Anytime, Anywhere Computing

LAS VEGAS (CES Booth #14200), Jan. 7, 2009 – Sony today took the wraps off the world’s lightest 8-inch notebook- the new VAIO® P Series Lifestyle PC.

About the size of a business envelope and roughly as thin as a cell phone, the VAIO Lifestyle PC weighs just 1.4 pounds and is small enough to slip into a jacket pocket or handbag while integrating full-PC features.

The model incorporates a high-resolution, 1600 x 768, LED backlit 8-inch ultra-wide display (diagonal), making it easy to view everything from entire spreadsheets to full web pages- no side-to-side scrolling necessary. It also incorporates Sony’s XBRITE-ECO™ LCD technology, producing images in brilliant detail for razor-sharp viewing on-the-go.

Stylish enough to take anywhere, the unit is available in an array of eye-catching colors, including garnet red, emerald green, onyx black, crystal white and classic black. Matching carrying cases and Bluetooth® color-coordinated mice are available to complete the look.

CINEMIN MICRO PROJECTORS

Cinemin Video Projectors (Stick, Swivel, and Station) - Tiny handheld video projectors that are about the size of a pack of cigarettes that use Texas Instrument’s high end DLP technology for crisp, clear, video and picture display.

SPYBALL WIFI WEB CAM

A mobile spycam that can transform back and forth between being a rollable ball and a wheel based webcam that can make nimble fast turns in any direction.

You can access the Spyball directly through an ad hoc WiFi connection (802.11 b/g) using a PC, many video game consoles, and some cell phones without the need for making the unit accessible via the Internet.

However, if you do desire remote web access to SpyBall it is possible to do so using more advanced configuration methods. Spyball is little brother to WowWee’s autonomous self-navigating Rovio mobile spybot.

JOEBOT

Joebot is WowWee’s follow-on robot to Femisapien, their first ever female robot.

Joebot sports the same nimble dance moves with the ability of learning song tempos directly from you and can also beatbox too.

You teach Joebot tempos by clapping in the air, tapping on a table, or tapping on his arm cables. When he dances he will use that tempo to time his movements using his dance routine and add some variation to the dance each time you trigger it.

He can also guard, patrol, talk to you, and is the first WowWee robot to respond to a limited set of voice commands. You interact with him using the controls embedded in his hands, or through the use of the infrared remote control that belongs to the original Robosapien robot.

Finally, he can engage you in Battle Mode where he will fire harmless shots from his arm mounted LEDs with accompanying theatric noises and gestures.

In addition, you can use a common infrared television remote control to duel with him and “shoot” him, which will trigger humorous, overly dramatic responses from him.

ROBOROVER

Roborover is WowWee’s successor to their popular Tri-Bot robot but instead of having wheels, he is WowWee’s first robot to sport tank style treads.

He has a fun personality that starts out shy. As you play with him his voice and dialogue changes to sound more confident (the personality resets when you turn him off or put him in one of his other operation modes).

He can play driving and navigation games like Tri-Bot but but they are noticeably faster paced and more exciting.

He has tilt sensors that let him know when he has fallen over, light sensors that trigger his headlights when a room becomes dark, and has an autonomous wandering mode.

Apple Steve Jobs introduces to the World, the MacBook with NO keyboard but a wheel (aka like an iPod) on the center. As weird as it may seem, it actually works (but I guess you will need many hours or days to get use to).
