Wow, technology moves fast. I remembered it is only last year that I went on the Malacca Casio trip with fellow bloggers to review the Casio EXILIM ZR3500. Now, Casio has launched the latest Casio EXILIM ZR5000. It has very wide angle lens and new enhancement that will definitely help you when taking selfies or wefies 🙂 .
If you already owned the ZR3500, I think you can give the ZR5000 a skip, unless you really need the super wide angle lens (19mm). Actually I hope that they can improve the low light capability to F/2.2. Currently, it is F/2.7. Optical zoom wise, it has only 5x zoom (instead of the previous 12x zoom on ZR3500).

Instantly create and share eye-catching mini movies
In addition to the camera’s standard Highlight Movie and Highlight Photo functions, an added Wide View Photo mode instantly creates shareable travel highlights by capturing two versions of the same image – a focused zoomed-in and a zoomed-out wide-angle version – to create a fun zoom-to-wide-angle still image animation.
Animations created using Wide View Photo offer a completely different impression as they gradually reveal the background view, resulting in delightful and surprising moments to share with friends and family on social media.
Always capture the ‘good side’ with mirror-image shooting
With the EX-ZR5000’s inverted processing feature, it eliminates the need to manually flip ‘selfies’ or ‘wefies’. Once an image is captured using the front shutter, it is automatically inverted from left to right to process the image as it appears on the screen.
