First Look – Talon AD7200

Unlike other router with 802.11n or 802.11ac, Talon is using 802.11ad and at a 60Ghz bandwidth. In layman term, it means is designed to operate at small rooms rather than the whole house with many walls. So, Talon is not your usual router that you can put it in the house and expect it to cover it completely (Thankfully, it is using multi-bands and can switch automatically when needed).

However, in exchange, you can get super fast WiFi speed if you have a device that can accept 802.11ad. So far, I have not seen any smartphone that is compatible with 802.11ad. The Talon will retail at S$499 and is available for sale at all major retailer outlets.

Here is the highlights of AD7200

I have not seen how fast the Talon AD7200 is using the 802.11ad. And I don’t think I can find one device that is using this standard.

First Look – TP-Link Neffos C5 Max

I have never expect TP-Link to come out with smartphones. Nevertheless they have done it. Here is the Neffos C5 Max, their premium smartphone from the Neffos C series. At S$249, there are actually a number of competitors in the market already. It has the usual specs for that price rang. I have not tried out the phone yet. First touch is that the phone is lighter than it looks (even though it has a big battery – 3045mAh).

From my understanding, we should be seeing more new products from TP-LInk soon (IOT and home Automation products).

Dropping in Singapore, the Fastest Router in the World

TP-LINK launches new showroom and service centre, alongside 2 new products for a better, integrated home entertainment experience

Singapore, 23 June 2016 – TP-LINK, the largest global provider of Wi-Fi networking products, today announced the opening of the company’s showroom and service centre in Aperia Mall, Kallang Avenue.

“Connectivity encompasses a large part of our business model. As such, our new showroom is located in an upcoming business district, making us readily accessible to our customers here in Singapore,” said Hugo Cai, General Manager of TP-LINK. “It will also double as a service centre to provide them with after-sales support that we’ve never been able to before.”

TP-LINK pumps approximately 10 percent of their yearly revenue into research and development (R&D) to bring to market superior technology products. Matched with decades of experience and an international footprint, which gives them access to global resources in infocomms and technology, they are in good stead to maintaining their reputation as the frontrunner for fast and reliable networking products internationally.

Redefining the Concept of Home Entertainment

With the number of smart devices in homes steadily rising, consumers are demanding more bandwidth for seamless connectivity and a better surfing experience. Sensitive to such needs, TP-LINK is now redefining the home entertainment hub by introducing its latest and most powerful technology to help devices run at incredible speeds and create a network of devices without users experiencing a trade-off in Wi-Fi performance.

Talon AD7200: The World’s Fastest Router

The world’s first 802.11ad router, the Talon AD7200 offers data speeds that are 10x faster than the routers that are currently sitting in our homes. Armed with this router – the world’s fastest – avid gamers will be able to shrug off game lag while playing DOTA with their friends, and streamers will no longer have to wait for ‘Narcos’ to load on Netflix.

With the router installed, transference of thousands of photos won’t take more than the time to wash a cup at the sink, and by the time you return from the toilet, your HD movie will be ready and loaded. It is faster than ‘Flash’ himself.

The 60GHz band that the Talon AD7200 provides can support the family’s simultaneous connections without interference. Everyone in the family will be able to do their own thing without a drop in network speed. Game online, stream movies, download files or share media at once? No problem. Mum, dad and kids will be able to get along better than before with no one having to wait a second longer for their desired online activity.

Neffos C5 Max: The Beauty of Simplicity

Besides the flash and dazzle of the Talon AD7200, TP-LINK is also bringing to market today the most premium of its Neffos C-Series of smartphones, the C5 Max. By incorporating polycarbonate composites into the chassis’s original colour and texture, the device shows off the beauty of simplicity and durability through industrial design. With Singapore urbanites now juggling hectic schedules and multiple devices, the CS Max is well placed to be a “second handset” for those who want to draw a clearer line between their work and home life. It complements their current phone without sacrificing much of the functionalities of their primary device.
