Singtel today unveiled a new version of the Singtel Dash and the Singtel Transit NFC SIM. Singtel also teamed up with Samsung to offer free rides on buses, MRT, LRT and taxis from today till 31st May 2016. With the new Dash app and Transit NFC SIM, customers can enjoy services like top up from various bank account, send money to selected countries like China, India and Philippines and also receive deals and rewards. Singtel launches Singapore’s first all-in-one mobile payments solution

Commute, shop and send money with Singtel Dash

Singapore, 10 May 2016 – Singtel today unveiled a new version of its popular mobile payments app, Singtel Dash, in conjunction with the launch of the Singtel Transit NFC SIM.
Singtel Dash is Singapore’s first all-in-one mobile payments solution – offering fast and secure transit payments and top-ups, in-store and online retail payments, as well as local and overseas money transfers. Everyone in Singapore can access Singtel Dash for their payments needs, regardless of their telco relationship or device.

The Singtel Transit NFC SIM effectively transforms NFC phones into ez-link cards. Via the Singtel Dash app, customers can enjoy the ease of checking and topping up their ez-link balances on the go. Customers using the Singtel Transit NFC SIM will also enjoy added peace of mind as Singtel will assist in registering them for EZ-Link ‘Activate!’1.

To celebrate the launch of the Singtel Transit NFC SIM and the new Singtel Dash, Singtel is teaming up with Samsung to offer free rides on buses, MRT, LRT and taxis from today until 31 May 2016. This is exclusively for Singtel Dash customers who register for the Singtel Transit NFC SIM on selected Samsung phones. All Dash customers will also be treated to special Dash $1 Deals near MRT stations and bus interchanges at all Singtel retail shops, 7-Eleven, Cheers and Watsons outlets island-wide, from now until 31 May 20162.

“Samsung tops the list with most phone models approved for the NFC SIM with 10 approved phone models, including the Galaxy S7 4G+ and S7 edge 4G+. In addition to its new transit payment and top-up, the Singtel Dash app has introduced several new features:

  • Top-up from any bank account3: Customers can now easily top-up their Singtel Dash balance via any bank account. This means that customers can carry the convenience of cash on their smartphones in just a few taps.
  • Send money overseas: Customers can send money to their friends and family in Indonesia, Philippines, India and China when they sign up for the remittance service.
  • Deals and rewards: Customers can access the latest deals and rewards on the app and can be notified if there is a promotion near them.

Singtel Dash will also welcome Prime Taxis to its extensive taxi network with a progressive rollout starting today. The taxi payment experience has been further enhanced where customers no longer need to enter the taxi number in order to complete the payment.

The Singtel Transit NFC SIM is now available at all Singtel retail stores. For a limited period, the usual S$5 EZ-Link registration fee will also be waived.
