Boston Dynamics, the company behind many awesome state of art robots, has done it again. One of their robots, Atlas, is very human-like. A few years ago, it can only do things only with many cables on its body. Now, in 2016, it can walk on its own and like many other Boston Dynamics’ robots, being abused for the sake of experiments.
Check out the latest video of Atlas. Amazingly, it can walk on its own on different terrain and carry simple objects. Judging from the video, there are a lot that it can improve. Nevertheless, it is still awesome that the robot is so human-like.
Not sure what application it can do but as a robot companion, it may not be so far-fetched after all.
