Viber Launches Its First Local Sticker Pack Specially Designed for Singaporeans

More than 50 Free Viber Stickers Celebrating Singapore’s Vibrant Culture to Share with Friends and Family

SINGAPORE – 24th February 2015 – Viber, the leading OTT communications app offering free messaging and HD-quality calls, has recently released its very first local sticker pack featuring Singaporean content. The new sticker pack, Singapore Lah!, is the first in a series of localized sticker packs designed for Singaporeans and SG lovers.

The ‘Singapore Lah!’ sticker pack features more than 50 unique stickers reflecting Singapore’s vibrant multicultural society. The sticker pack offers greetings in multiple languages, namely, English, Malay, Chinese and Tamil as well as Singlish expressions. Stickers display many Singaporean cultural aspects including key landmarks such as Chinatown, Geylang Serai and Little India as well as local food including Nasi Lemak, Prata and Kopi, Kaya with soft boiled eggs. If you’re having lunch at Lau Pa Sat or dining at a Pasar Malam, you can now tell your friends to join with dedicated stickers. Also, when Friday comes, share ‘TGIF’ and ‘Yamseng’ stickers to start the weekend on a positive and cheerful vibe. There are fun stickers for various occasions that Viber users in Singapore can discover and send to friends and family.

Designed by a local Singaporean creative agency, the new Viber sticker pack is a localized version of the main Viber Family characters, LegCat, Violet and DJ. Dressed in traditional attire and local streetwear, the iconic Viber characters are hanging out in the Little Red Dot, sharing local fare and conversing in their respective languages and the local slang.

“To ensure a great experience for our users, we must create unique localized content that reflects the culture, values and interests of people in their respective country and region,” said Mark Hardy, Chief Marketing Officer at Viber. “As Singapore starts its 50th anniversary celebrations, we are excited to join the vibe with the release of this bespoke sticker pack. We hope Singaporeans will have fun with this fresh local content – with more to follow soon.”

Viber continues to spread the SG Vibe. Back in November 2014, Viber launched Public Chats (Beta) allowing users to discover, share and follow live discussions on Viber. In line with its promise of localization, Viber has partnered with Singaporean celebrities, institutions and brands offering its first Singaporean content with live conversations about the Singaporean scene. Singapore Public Chats partners include Singaporean comedian Fuzz on Comedians Asia!, NUS Business School and local online grocer RedMart, among others.

The Singapore Lah! sticker pack is now available to download for free from the Viber Sticker Market. This release marks the first of a series of Singaporean sticker packs to be announced in the coming months.
