The D3300 Provides New D-SLR Shooters a Powerful Combination of Effortless Operation, 24.2 Megapixel High Resolution and 13 Special Effect Modes to Extend the Enjoyment of Photographic Expression

SINGAPORE – Nikon Singapore Pte Ltd is pleased to announce the release of the new Nikon D3300, a DX-format model featuring advanced technology that enables the capture of high-quality images easily, even for first time users. The compact and lightweight camera is equipped with a high resolution 24.2 megapixel DX-format CMOS sensor with the optical low-pass filter removed and the latest EXPEED 4 image processing system to deliver stellar image and video quality. Whether new to photography or upgrading from a point-and-shoot, the D3300 features Nikon’s instructive Guide Mode to help unleash the photographer in everyone.

A host of advanced features, including a 5 frames-per-second (fps)* high-speed continuous shooting mode and an ISO range of 100 to 12800, prepare the D3300 for fast-paced action and challenging lighting conditions. Budding film-makers can also take advantage of the smooth Full HD movie recording with 1080/60p support. The D3300 features 13 special effect modes and various retouch menu options to extend the enjoyment of photographic expression. Users will also be able to take advantage of the WU-1a Wireless Mobile Adapter to wirelessly control the camera’s shutter, send images to smartphones and tablets, designate image size and add location information to images. The AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G VRII kit lens will be released at the same time as the D3300, maximizing the camera’s portability. Its new retractable-lens mechanism brings about a smaller and lighter form factor.

Effortless operation

The D3300 offers superior image quality for those looking for a simple, easy-to-use camera, while also serving as a gateway to Nikon’s rich D-SLR ecosystem. Measuring a mere 124 x 98 x 75.5mm and tipping the scales at 490g, the D3300 offers portability for users who want to take it everywhere. Improved image composition capabilities are assured with a viewfinder featuring approximately 0.85x magnification.

Beginner photographers will appreciate the camera’s Guide Mode which provides step-by-step instructions for capturing exquisite images. The camera is capable of continuous shooting of up to 100 images in a single burst at 5 fps1, so the user never misses a shot. With a single charge of the EN-EL14a Rechargeable Li-ion battery, photographers can take up to approximately 700 shots2 or up to approximately 55 minutes2 of video.

The D3300 also features an i button that enables direct and quick access to menu settings. Higher-definition characters and icons in the information display with larger ISO sensitivity indication further simplify system navigation.

The WU-1a Wireless Mobile Adapter, together with the Nikon Wireless Mobility App3, allows users to shoot remotely and transfer images to smart devices. Users can also control image size and add location information obtained through the smart device to the images.
