Samsung today announced a new tablet, the GALAXY Tab 3 Kids, built specifically for children that comes pre-loaded with a wide array of educational tools and features. The tablet will be available from 16 November 2013 with a price tag of S$388, at Toys”R”Us, Popular book stores, Samsung Experience Stores, and major consumer electronics stores, .
The GALAXY Tab 3 Kids will come in 2 modes, one specifically for the child and the other kicks in when the parent wants to use it as a normal tablet without having the need to buy a separate one.
I believe this device will be quite a hit for tech savvy parents that are both looking for a new tablet and a way to provide their kids with child-friendly entertainment.

Toca Hair Salon 2
In this kid-friendly, super-creative kids app, kids get to run their very own hair salon with six fun characters to choose from. Kids are given the option to cut, color and style hair any way they want, using different hair styling tools – from a simple comb and scissors to a curling iron and a straightener. They will be able to trim mustaches, spray mohawks bright pink and give someone the curls they’ve always wanted!
Pettson’s Inventions 2
This is a fun and pedagogic app that teaches logic and stimulates creativity for children of all ages. Kids will help old man Pettson and his cat, Findus to build amazing inventions by identifying which objects to be included in the machinery. As usual, a secret waits to be unlocked for those who manage to complete the puzzle.
Kids WORLD

Developed with kids’ best interests at the forefront, Samsung GALAXY Tab 3 Kids also includes a Time Manager feature that allows parents to set specific time periods for use. When the designated use time is up, a password protected lock screen appears, requiring a parent or adult to enter the password to unlock the device. This tool will help parents ensure the time their children spend on smart devices is balanced.

Samsung GALAXY Tab 3 Kids is designed to be versatile. When kids’ playtime is over, parents can switch to the Standard Mode and enjoy it as a normal tablet, without the need to own a separate tablet.
