ASUS Launches New Transformer Pad TF701T with 2,560 x 1,600 Display in Singapore

High-performance Android tablet features a stunning 10.1-inch IPS ultra-high resolution display and a powerful NVIDIA® Tegra® 4 quad-core processor

Singapore (10 October, 2013) — ASUS today announced the new Transformer Pad TF701T, a 10.1-inch Android tablet with a stunning 2,560 x 1,600 IPS display, the latest high-performance NVIDIA® Tegra® 4 quad-core processor and a lightweight mobile dock with USB 3.0. It will be available at all ASUS authorised partners and ASUS brand stores at S$749, inclusive of the dock.

The new ASUS Transformer Pad follows the same award-winning concept that continues to tear up the tablet design rulebook with its innovative tablet and dock design. The new Transformer Pad applies significant improvements that include performance and functionality to provide a class-leading device.

Featuring a durable metallic design that measures 8.9mm thick and weights only 585g, the new Transformer Pad is perfect for on-the-go entertainment. A high-quality speaker with ASUS SonicMaster audio technology gives loud, clear sound for music, movies and games, while the 17-hour battery life when docked means the tablet could last for two full working days between charges.

ASUS Expert Crafting & Innovation

In the new Transformer Pad, ASUS has produced the most beautiful and ambitious tablet yet. The unibody frame is made from aerospace-grade aluminium, which is twice-anodized with a concentric circular brushed metal finish and diamond cut edges, for the best possible construction precision and resistance to corrosion and damage.

Its design incorporates gentle curves to fit the hand better, while slightly exposing the lines in the circular brushed finish to provide better grip. Following its predecessor, the new Transformer Pad has been designed to elegantly and intuitively dock into the new Transformer Pad mobile dock.

The Tablet for Vivid 2,560 x 1,600 Entertainment

Continuing the Transformer Pad’s legacy of pushing the tablet display resolution boundary, the new Transformer Pad features a 10.1-inch high-performance IGZO-TFT display with reduced energy consumption and a very wide colour gamut. The 2,560 x 1,600 WQXGA resolution gives an extraordinarily sharp image at 300ppi, while IPS technology ensures accurate colour reproduction, wide 178-degree viewing angles and excellent daylight visibility. This makes the new Transformer Pad great for pro-sumer photo and video viewing, demonstration and editing, and also serve as a good premium home cinema experience in the palm.

Powered by an NVIDIA Tegra 4 processor with a quad-core processor and a 72-core GeForce GPU, the new Transformer Pad provides great entertainment experience with HD movies and the latest Android games. Miracast Wi-Fi video streaming means the new Transformer Pad can mirror its display to a compatible HDTV for big-screen entertainment without cables, while a wired HDMI connection can drive a 4K Ultra HD display for truly immersive enjoyment.

The new Transformer Pad also features a front 1.2-megapixel camera for crystal-clear video chat and a rear 5-megapixel camera that captures full-resolution photos while shooting simultaneous 1080p full HD video. Zero shutter lag means photos are always captured at the right moment, while HDR and intelligent face enhancement gives great shots, every time.

Mobile Dock for Additional Productivity

The new Transformer Pad is more than just a high-performance tablet — it is also an extremely capable Android laptop, thanks to its mobile dock. The dock’s full-size keyboard with a large multi-touch touchpad makes the new Transformer Pad perfect for productivity apps, such as the pre-installed Microsoft Office-compatible Polaris Office suite.

The dock also features a USB 3.0 port that adds support for the latest next-generation SuperSpeed storage devices, while its own built-in battery extends the new Transformer Pad’s battery life from 13 to 17 hours. The dock also features an SDXC card slot that complements the tablet’s own microSDXC card slot.

Availability and Pricing

Available from 12 October, the new Transformer Pad will be retailing at S$749, inclusive of the dock. It will be sold at all ASUS authorised partners and brand stores.
