Digg Reader to be launched in time for Google Reader retirement

Digg has been busy since the day Google announced the “retirement” of Google Reader on 1st July 2013. Finally, they updated, in a blog post, about their progress and the announcement of the Digg Reader (to be launched on 26th June 2013).

This is going to be an exciting news for most of us as many are trying to get a replacement for Google Reader. At the current moment, Feedly seems to be the best replacement. Now, with Digg Reader, it seems that we have more choices.

During the launch, the Web and iPhone version will be available. In the following weeks, the Android app will be made available.  Here is what to expect about the Digg Reader at launch.

  • Easy migration and onboarding from Google Reader.
  • A clean reading experience that gets out of the way and puts the focus squarely on the articles, posts, images, and videos themselves.
  • Useful mobile apps that sync with the web experience.
  • Support for key actions like subscribing, sharing, saving and organizing.
